Okay....I need all y'alls opinion on this. I won an AT4033 from ebay a couple of days ago. I know I like the mic already but here's my dilemna. I have a chance at buying another one at a very good price. I would use them for many things...especially for over heads on a drum kit. Right now I have two C3000B's for my over heads and they're pretty good. Should I just keep the one 4033 and buy two SM81's for my overheads or would the 4033's be a better way to go. I've worked with a 4033 and I love the way they sound but I've never worked with an SM81.

Thanks
RF

If you have one already I'd definately get a second one. They're very nice overheads, sound great on acoustic instruments and are great vocal mics. The swiss army knife of mics. I get a lot of milage out of my pair.

Get 2!

Best investment I've thus far made......great overheads.....friends borrow them!

I have two 4033s that I use for overheads and many other things such as stereo guitar micing. Definitely get the second one, you'll regret it if you don't.

They are great mics so you might as well have two of them.

I would pair the 4033 its a pretty versitile mic and you already have one..Then get a 81 down the road..For me the 81 is better at strummed acoustic and hand percussion like tamborine ect. its better with {Transients}..However the 4033 is great for elec. guit. finger picked acoustic, some vox...And its not very expensive..299.00 where the 81 is about 370.00 or so I belive..Good luck
