I have now gone from my musicman HD130 130 watter
to an Ampeg VL1002 100 watter
to a 68 Super Reverb 40 watter

Can anyone recommend a 25 watt all tube amp?

just checked out the link, looks like something to look into, the only thing they did not include was the price?\

Do you own one, do you like it?
I have never heard one.

Trust me. You won't notice a difference. I have a SuperReverb and while it is loud, My ProJunior is almost as loud and it is only 15 watts.

Your best bet is to get an attenuator like a HotPlate.

outlaws is probably right. the maximum volume that a 40 watt amp and a 25 watt amp can achieve will only be a couple db apart.

Can't go wrong with a Silvertone Twin Twelve. 30 Watts, just for the headroom. Rock out.

I want something I can crank to overdrive naturally without hurting myself.
My VL1002 had an attenuator but I did not like the sound of the amp itself.
I like the super reverb when it is cranked but it is to loud, plus a little to big to lug around when not necessary. :)
Thanx for the info so far.
Keep it coming.

What I should probably do is just get a tiny amp for lead and use the super for rythum and switch between them.
I used to do that with and Ampeg VT22 and a fender Pro Reverb at one time.
The other musicians used to give me a hard time for having to lug around 2 amps and set them up, but what the hell.

That was only because the amp wasn't driving the speakers hard. That is a large factor of sound, but unfortunatly, even if you get a 5 watt amp, unless you have a 10-15 watt speaker, you will never get the speaker to open up with it either. The only 15 watt speaker that isn't from a crummy home stereo system that I am aware of is the Celestion Blue. That is $300. $250 if you know where to look.

Good luck.

Plus I should mention that the HotPlate has compensators for the lower volume where treble and bass respond differently. Kind of evens it out a bit.

Funny, I have an amp tech who told me if any of the tens in the super reverb go, replace them with cheap speakers.
Also funny, after playing for forty years you would think I would know some of this stuff.

Yeah, I have one and love it. It was a little pricey at $700 but I just love this thing.

You should send me your VL1002 immediately! I'll put it to good use. :)

I just picked up a Fender Blues DeVille for a couple hundred and I "still" need to get my VT22 fixed so I can give the neighbor with a dog that barks permanent hearing damage. :D

I use a Blackface Fender Princeton with the 10" speaker changed to a 12". With the usual assortment of pedals I can do any small to medium room no problemo. Great for recording too.

I went from a Super to a Deluxe Reverb for the same reason, and I couldn't be happier. I found a '65 blackface orginal, and it's probably the last amp I will ever buy.

Buy a Pignose G40V and do the mods detailed at guitarnuts.com. 40W, 1X10 (although some people have squeezed 12s in there).

Had the VL1002 for sale here for 350.00, no offers, sold it to a local for 300.00.
About to sell the musicman for 250.00, tried here, no takers.
The VT22 will blow away the VL1002 tonewise and probably volume wise and can surely kill your neighbors dog.

No way in hell am I paying seven hundred dollars for a twenty five watt amp, I'll buy used under those conditions. Not dissing you mind ya. :)
I only paid three hundred for my 68 super, 400 for the VL1002, and 145 for the musicman.
