I'm not into computer hard disk recording much, but I am wondering if someone out there could inform me of some sound cards which have 4 mono balanced/unbalanced line in inputs.
I don't know of any myself. They seem to either have the 1 single stereo unbalanced input, or 8 to 16 inputs with the use of daughterboard. There doesn't seem to be anything out there that provides a solution for 4-track digital recording.

If anyone could advise on as many models as possible that have this feature, I would muchly appreciate it - Preferably witht he inputs being 1/4 inch balanced jacks.

I hope someone out there would agree with me on this nice little concept of homerecording.
All you would need is a 4 bus mixer (4 subgroups), and you could do good quality studio recordings or awesome live recordings.

Cheers.

Thanks nero, that looks pretty dam good to me. I've always heard about Aardvark, but never could find the homepage.
Keep me posted if anything else comes up.
Cheers.

Gadgetlabs has some new products out that have this feature. I believe at the time they offer 3 soundcard options, and the middle of the line has 4 in/out balanced/unbalanced via TRS 1/4" connections. They call the card Wave 4/96 or something I think. Their site is www.gadgetlabs.com . Sells for about $399 Us funds I think.

JKountz thanks alot, looks really good.
I think that the combination of a 4 bus mixer and a 4 channel sound card could make a good solution to 4-track analogue cassette recording.
Cheers.
