the channel 7 meter won't work the channel records fine;;any quick fix thanks?

You could try blasting a signal through it for a brief moment by raising the level all the way to 10 on the trim and fader for the channel in question to see if it's just sticky. If it is, that exercise may wake it up and get it working again.
I have heard of others doing this with some degree of success.
