I have 5 of them. I like them for the price and it is the only compressor I have used. I am scouring eBay looking for more because when they become vintage, I want to sell them and maybe make a few $$$
Oh yeah, I heard about them from Harmony Central, another professional recording site.
I know these things have been trashed on this site more times than just about any other piece of gear that is with the exception of anything Behringer.
There is however an article in the Jan/Feb issue of Tape Op that details a simple modification that, at least according to the article, seems to make a big difference
I recommend getting an RNC compressor as well. They're $175 new and better than anything close to their price range. Once you hear it in comparision to the 3630 you'll understand why people give the 3630 a hard time.

Actually "vintage 3630" -- that's a really funny concept.... kind of like aluminum xmas trees can be considered "vintage"................ so can an Edsel....

I reckon they'll be worth much less than the original retail, so I wouldn't plan on a big cash windfall. I used to own one back in the 90's (my first compressor), and sold it in 2000 for about $50. I kinda feel bad for the guy that bought it
Drake: I put another vote in for the RNC. You'd just have to hear the difference and I know you'd be impressed.
