Hey, I like your songs. Really good tunes and quite a display of multi-genre talent. A couple of questions/remarks:
1. Did you play the drums or use drum machines? If you played them I am jealous because I have never gotten the knack of drumming. I could only wish. If you usesd a drum machine or computer drums then what did you use? Either way, good work, all your instruments sound as if done by the player of each intstrument. Also, very band-like sound. Hard quallity to get when you record solo (which is how I record, just me, myself and I).
2. I detect reverb on your vocal on "Gravity", but barely. Not much of any on the other two songs. Personally, I love reverb, but then again, I don't care for hearing my own voice. I find I frequently double track my vocals or, at least, add delay and or doubling to thicken the vocal. Then I add reverb, though I try not to 'Phil Spector' the recording. If I have any complaint about your song it is that the vocal is thin. Not weak, mind you, but thin. I have a DVD about Dark Side of the Moon and Alan Parsons used plenty of delay to thicken David Gilmore's vocals. As I said, I do a lot of (manual) double tracking.
3. Master effects--do you use them? I've been dabbling with this myself. If I have any major complaints about the VF160 it is the lack of master effects. But I do like to put some on the stereo mix and capture a "hall" atmosphere, especially since I do most of my electric guitars and bass through a POD and Boss GT-6. Great tools but you do lose "space" going direct.
4. Do you upload your songs for free? Or do you have a service that you subscribe to?
Anyway, way cool songs and a job well done.
Peace, Jim
