what is time compression expansion?

You know, like a music time compander or expressor.

Actually I think he means like stretching a looped groove.

in protools le systems theres a built in expansion tool called time comp exp.

basically what it does is take the wave and either shorten or lengthen it.
i have a better expander that i picked up by a company called Serato, its called pitch n time.
but the built in t.c.e in pro tools gives a very grainy and bionic like effect to some sounds so i went with that one for the end bass thing.

all the other stuff besides the bass weve talking about, and the drums--
its all just acoustic guitar with tempo sensitive modulation chops.
i used waves mondo mod, thats one hell of a plug-in!

take care.

in omen....
the beginning when the keys come in...sound like dimmu borgir for a little bit :o :o :o
the vocals are badass....n i like the drums too...the china is killing

All recording issues aside, the performance was tight and I really got into the song. I've never actually heard any Fear Factory, but your sound is hard to classify into any genre I'm familliar with, and I really dig that. If you ever get any other songs recorded be sure to post 'em.

thank you for the props/tips i appriciate it.

ill post new stuff soon.

peace.

I know I'm late, but I thought it...

...was nice and tight.

On the first song:
Drums sounded nice, especially toms, though I'd tighten up the snare a bit, for more attack. Also, at some points I agree that it was a tad too dry. I think it does need a bit more punch (maybe tell your drummer to hit the kick a bit harder, at certain points), but overall it was pretty good.

Second song:
Drums fake? (they sound cool). I also kinda liked the singer's voice/style (that you?). All that compression kinda sounds cool. ;-)

TWO CENTS!

rweiss, thanx for the review!
second song has 4 different types of drums.
1. throughout the whole middle section the drums are--- REASON
2. a pair of china boy cymbals, and a roto-tom rack(stereo miced)
3. throughout the whole end section the drums are me playing a drum kit, triggered by an alesis DM5, then looped, then extended WAY beyond their capabilities with a plug from waves called Xwide.
4.The auxilary stuff at the end are urethane wood blocks by LP, and those are looped too.

and yes thats me singing.

peace.
