Hello!

I've salvaged a 24 tracks mixer from berhinger and would love to connect it with an Alesis' HD24 recorder, this said I can't seem to figure out the right way to do it, as I'd like to be able to control recorded tracks from the mixer itself instead of just sending signals to it... I'm wondering if that is possible... Any help welcome!

yeah, ti's possible, just plug the outputs of the hd24 into the line inputs of the behringer.

However, you can't run a mic in at the same time, so you'll have to depatch the HD24 input for any channel you want to use the mic input for.

The outputs of the HD24 atre +4 balanced. While the behri will probably accept a balanced signals fine, the +4 it may or may not. And depending on which particular mixer you have dictates how you can or can't connect the inputs of the HD to the mixer.

Does the mixer have inserts(should do)? If so you can use these to send the signal to the HD24, and from the HD24 back to the mixer, giving you control over the levels(don't think these levels will be recorded though. Just the gain levels, unless it's post fader which they usually aren't). But this is useful in mixdown, becuase you get control of every channel as you mix down to the single stereo output, or sub mixes.
