Ok, I replaced my little Boss unit with a Tascam 2488mkII :) Only played around with it a little so far, but it seems to be just what I wanted, perfect for doing simple demos.

One thing I can't get to work is the noise suppressor (NSP) on the MIC effects. I can assign it to an input or a track and no effect. I can get the NSP in the multi-effects to work. I can get the compressor in MIC effects to work, but not the noise suppressor... Anybody seen this before?

The unit is new, boots up saying it's Ver 1.00. Is there a later version?

cheers,
chili

Once you load the effect from the library odes it show in the mic effect screen?

Ver 1.00 would be correct if your rig is a neo. They just came out in late September.

It's a MkII, not a neo.

Yes, the screen comes up, I can load the effect from the library and I can adjust the parameters, but when I assign the effect to an input or a track it doesn't have any effect, even if I lower the threshold right down.

Try raising the threshold. Lowering it is allowing everything to come through.

Sorry, that's what I meant. Threshold range is -40 to 0db. Raising it, even all the way to 0, makes no difference. Works fine on the Multi-effect NSP though.
