:D Yo John:

I don't use the Tascam unit; however, it should work in a similar fashion as my Yam 2816.

I'll try to give some steps you did to do with your Tascam:

You have to get the EDIT function in gear and insert your media into the CD tray.

Then, [it should be in your manual] you hit the enter key and your file list should be on screen. You then select the wave file you want to import and follow the steps in your manual.

A friend of mine sent me some tracks in Wave format and it was fairly simple to import them into my unit -- check the manual or go to the Tascam site for your unit.

2488 Wave file Import

I had to play around with this also. I kept getting an error telling me I had no files to import. So I ended up doing a USB export so I could see the exact format it wants.

Make sure your wave file is:

24 or 16 bit sample size
1 channel (mono)
44 kHz sample rate
PCM compression

It helps to have an 8.3 filename (old DOS style) or it will rename the file for you.

Then follow the instructions on p68 for USB import.

I'm assuming the CD import will work if the file meets the above criteria. I haven't tried it yet (the day is young).

USB import of MIDI works great.

Thank you. It worked after the wav. files were turned to mono and I used a CDRW. John
