24/96 on the Q10?

Is the Aardvark Q10 capable of 24/96 recording? I've ordered one, and I assumed it would be, but I just found this in the manual:

Source Select
This lets you select what sample rate you want to use the
Q10 at. You can select 32 kHz,44.1 kHz,48 kHz,or slave to
S/PDIF. This automatically sets the source of the Q10 ’s clock
as well as the word clock output.

Am I missing something?

It would seem that its only 24/48 which is fine for just about everything. There is really no need for 96khz right now.
 
I was under the impression that we were all gonna have to move to 24/96 because it was the new DVD burning standard...

On the Cakewalk web site, they've got the Q10 listed as 24/96 capable. Does anybody know for sure? Also, are we really gonna end up recording on DVDs instead of CDs? And, if so, will we be recording in 24/96, or will we burn DVDs with CD-quality (lower res) sound?

It's 24/48 unless you're using Logic Audio which will limit you to 24/41. Upgrade when DVD burning becomes the standard:)
 
According to Aardvark, it's a problem Emagic is aware of. You CAN use 48khz but have to boost the ASIO buffer setting to max, and limit the I/Os to 1. Otherwise the playback is noisy.
 
damn, thats messed up. Someone should take care of that nonsense.
 
So, is the sample rate in hardware, or will the WDM drivers boost the Q10's ability up to 96?

Maybe this was written before the Q10 shipped? There isn't a way they could update drivers and make it work at 96 is there?
 
There has been some speculation on a 96khz firmware revision. I wouldn't make it the deciding factor on my purchase of the card though being how Aardvark says they're going to release stuff, and never do(Q32?). Though I really like the Q10, and think the sound quality is great at 44.1:)

my soundcard is 24/96 capable and I still record at 24/48.....id get the Q10....its an awesome unit for an awesome price......
