Hello,

I know, the thicker the better is the conventional wisdom, but I have to fashion a considerable number of hookup cables (actually hardwired patch bays mostly) so the cable runs aren't going to be very long. Is there any advantage or disadvantage to using the 24 gauge and saving a few $? (and I mean a few the difference is about 20-40 cents per foot....)

Well, if i'd bothered to read anything further on te Redco site...
:spank:

Sound quality wize the 22 and 24 gauge will probably sound the same especially if they are short cable runs ..... where the 22 gauge has an advantage is they will be tougher and last longer , being short cable runs there might be more bending and strain on the cable so haveing a thicker cable with more securly soldered ends on them might be an advantage ......

Cheers
