hi ppl ,

I m a pretty newby in recording and in this forum and I really would appreciate if someone could help me ! So here are my questions :
I m shortly before buying either the BR864 or the Fostex MR8.
I would fundamentally prefer the Boss unit cause of the effects, the moddeling and the drums even though its costs almost 200€ more , but there it is one feature about the Fostex from which i don t know if the Boss also does have it.
1.) Is it possible to export the single tracks from a multitrack recording as single wave files, so that they can be conveniently further edited in an sequencer/wave-editor ?
2.) In case it is , is it done via USB or directly from the CF card via a card- reader ?

thx alot in advance

1. Yes, you can extract single tracks as mono WAV (or AIFF) or a pair of tracks as stereo WAV.

2. The default is USB, but you can do it by card reader if it's inconvenient to connect directly to the computer.

Hi Hubcapbrian :) ,thank you very much for the reply! it was very helpfull.
Hopefully you won`t feel bothered if I add one more question :o
If I export single tracks from the BR864 to the PC, do I need to have some special software to create wave files (like the CardManager soft for the Zoom PS04 or the Wavemanager soft from the Fostex MR8)
or is the audio format on the card wave anyway ?

greetings from germany
