Yo crEEK man...I took a listen to your new tunes and really liked what I heard. Mix sounds great on both. "The end and everything after" was a very cool song with nice arrangements and I liked the solo a lot. "Living Color" was my favorite...man that song rocks big time, love everything about it and wouldn't change a thing on that tune. Your vocals fit that song the best to me (that is you singing eh?) I really enjoyed your stuff man..great tunes!

J O N - X :D! Glad you're back, my man. And thanks for jumping in on the discussion. As always, enlightening us on the finer points of recording.

Hey David. Man, thanks a bunch. Yes, that's me singing on the tracks. I think I mentioned before that Jon-X played those rocking electric solos on every tune you'll find on my page. It's an excellent partnership. My name is on the stuff, but he was every bit as responsible for making those tracks come alive. BTW, If you've got something posted David I'd love to check it out.

Good job CreeK! Not only does the recording reflect excpetional talent, but also a hell of alot of creativity.
I got one question...what kinda equipment do you use?
Id love yo know your setup!

More setup info...

Thanks for listening poo and for the compliments. crEEk talked about some setup stuff in above posts as well as did I, but here's a summary of everything recording equipment wise that we used for all the songs listed on crEEks MP3.com page: vs880, Shure SM57 and BG4.1 mics, Tannoy monitors, Sound Forge and T-Racks software. For when these songs were done, that's pretty much it. I've since moved from the 880 to a computer and Vegas for recording. If you want to know more about instruments and other stuff used let me know. For the creative side of things, crEEk certainly knows how to do an arrangement and always comes up with stuff that I never thought about.

One of the most important things though in all the recording we did was getting so much great infomation from people at this BBS, where I would have otherwise not had a clue. For instance, several people commented about too much treble in these songs, and I hear exactly what they are saying.

Thanks!! thats certainly great that you can do such a good recording with limited resources. I was gonna check out the BG 4.1's...did you use them as overheads and for vocals?

BG 4.1

We used one BG4.1 to mic the acoustic and then used the same mic later on to record all the vocals. When I bought the BG4.1 almost two years ago it was much cheaper than most any other decent condenser mic I could find local and try out. I would probably take a look at some of the other mics mentioned here on the BBS in the less than $300 price range before I bought that one. It's not bad in any way, just not great either. I have no idea what the BG4.1 sells for now, but I paid around $150 for it. Some of the other mics I was interested in were more than double that price back then, and have now dropped in price a lot.
