hi guys, i have 2 mics, one is sm57, one is a condenser mic, i try to record drums by using them, bassdrum, snare, cymbals sounds not bad, but the tom tom were bad, i just put them beyond the drums set, how can i get the better sound? i think my tunning is ok, i think it 's the mis positioin problem

If thats all I had to use I'd try the condenser on top of the drums then the sm57 in the front of the bass head but back a little bit to get more of the kit. Just experiment with everything!

look in the mic section

There is ALOT on drum-micing in the mic section of this website, particularly huge amounts of stuff minimalist setups , agree about the condenser above the drummers head, maybe the 57 a little raised and 30cms (around a foot i spose) from the bass drum, so u get a little more toms and snare, but are still able to control bass levels... just an idea
