2-channel mic pre

Hi,

I was going to get the Audio Buddy 2-channel mic pre until I read something on this forum... someone was saying that you can only use one channel at a time, is this correct?

i have 2 mics for recording an acoustic guitar, and I want to record with them on my computer through the 1/8 jack in my soundcard. do i need two completely separate pres? would i just get a Y cord to plug them both into the sound card?

if this is so, i might just get one of those mixers -- which cannot be mentioned by name, but begins with a B -- because I am on a very limited budget at this particular time, and my recordings are just for fun.

The audio buddy would be a great solution for your situation.

The audio buddy is suprisingly a very good little mic pre...I have used one for vocals and also on doing acoustic guitar...and yes, you can do two channels at once.

Yeah, just did two AudioBuddy remote recordings. One DID fail on one channel, but it was my fault for (a) buying cheap cables and (b) not tossing 'em out when I start having trouble. The offending cable pair is now safely at the dump. Second recording was fine. Very clean and quiet.

Interestingly, Home Recording mag (no relation to the BBS, right?) really liked the pre's in the Behringer UB-1002, which I also have. I don't think their standards are very high, though - the lack of a power switch on the 1002 deserved at least a mention...

Yup,everyone is right.I use the Audio Buddy for stereo recording all the time.I love my Buddy!!!Nope,not like that it is a platonic thing....
