I tracked drums for 19 songs today, and not a single lock up. Not one. 2.2 would have got me for at least 2, prob 4, with that many songs.
Heres what I am digging:
The mix buss sounds better. Period. Best part of all.
PDC totally rocks. You can tell a difference, especially when multing a vocal through numerous plugs and massive manipulation. Its tighter for sure.
Per track input monitoring button: very nice. Very useful.
Doesnt dropout as easy as 2.2
I kinda like seeing the red waveforms crack open while recording.
The newconsole looks great.
I bought a new white keyboard just for Sonar, and got a super-fine tip Sharpie and made a ton of shotcuts and wrote them all over the keys. Thats great, no more scrolling through commands.
Works like a charm.
What I dont like:
In the new console, I dont like having to scroll through buss sends when there is a huge open area above the strip just being wasted, and when you press the scroll button, you have to press it for each move you cant just hold it and let it scroll through. Then, if you ahve 4 busses open and say, you thought you had 5, and you try to click past the 4th one a window opens up, and that sucks cause it just slows you down.
I cant decide if I like the track inspector or not. Thats up in the air. As of yet, I am neither for nor against it, although it holds potential.
Another think I dont like much is the new look. Its not as clean as Sonar 2, not as pro looking, but it IS easier to see some things than it was before.
Worth $99 in a second though. Highly recommended.
