19yr old records entire album on his PC in his room....

Just listened to guardian angel. The bass I didn't like so much (heavy distortion = not my thing) but the levels sounded good to my very non-professional ears. slap a slightly cleaner bass track on there and start listening to it on top pop hit stations around the country as far as I'm concerned.
 
Get a hold of The Mull Historical Society's 1st CD LOSS - a bedroom recording that rocks in a psychedelic sort of way.
I'll be back to listen after I get over the multi list shock horror.
PROTOCOL - who's running the protocol classes for newbies?

Thanks for mentioning that. I listened to a couple of the things on his website. Good stuff. Do you know of any other recordings like this? I'm very interested in hearing stuff like this.

BTW, this thread is a couple of years old. I don't think the link to the music works any more.
 
Mull Historical Society have 3 albums,
LOSS, US & I haven't bought the latest one. Try www.mullhistiricalsociety.com
I had to import the CDs to Australia - sad state of affairs.
The Cosmic Rough Riders are in a vaguely similar vein.
THe Flamin Lips are musically similar but more famous - though determinedly non mainstream.

I dig the flaming lips. i'll check out the cosmic rough riders.........seems i've heard them before. i definately remember the name.

The 1st CD is BRILLIANT & given that the vast majority was home noodling it strikes that perculiar vein of I could do that IF.....
The 2nd is GREAT
I really recommemd the 1st for home rec ideas.
The Cosmics are more trad in format & ideas but really nice - I think their old site has some samples - one of the principals left a couple of years ago but..
