Hey guys at www.loveandwar.cjb.net go to samples and d/l any of the mp3's. I recorded them with my rhythm guitarist, i played all instruments and produced it entirely in my bedroom. please check it out and gimme some feedback

Nice tune, sounds good:cool:

Ummm, Vocals? To be honest, I was listening for about a minute, and I actually thought it was an instrumental. On my system ( Tannoys), a literally cant hear any vocals some times, and when I could, I couldnt possibly make out a word.

Crank them Vocals up;)

Yes, need to crank the vocals WAY up...And try to get a better "thump" from you kick drum.....

Listening on my Truth's the bass is overpowering in when it is going to the more melodic line.....try cutting out some midrange (not sure the exact frequencies).

Hey guys thanx! I'll toy with those thoughts for a while!

I listened to "EXP."

Did you run the whole mix through a reverb? Needs less reverb. Vocals need to be centered, and more clear. The snare sounds prominent. Where are the rest of the drums? The guitar mix overall is pretty muddy. I don't really dig the lead guitar sounds, they're kind of fake / harsh sounding. COmpare your mix to cds in your genre, Creed comes to mind, to help yourself narrow down mix problems.

all things considered (18 years old in the bedroom recording etc..) it freaking rocks luv the animal drums. whats some of the gear your recording with?

Hey, IbanezLove, I'm 17 and record all my bands stuff in my bedroom.

Some examples:

Tell me what you think!

I liked what I heard, but the vocals were weird, sounded like they were WAY too far back. The bass was too loud, and the vocals were too distorted ( don't know if that was intentional)

I'm curious as to what you're recording with too.

Hey jrlemonz- What did you use to record that? For the most part it sounded pretty good. But if I can give some suggestions you may be able to get a better sound. :)

First, I am not a professional in recording so I can't tell you how to do my suggestions, but I am going to suggest anyways.

1. Vocals- you may have done this intentionally, but they sound like they are comming to far from the right....I think they need to be panned more up center or two tracks and pan them stereo to make them sound more up front....but again, this would be my personal preference.

2. Bass sounds alright, as does guitar.

3. Drums- I don't know how one would do this but the drums seems like they need more "pop and snap" to them.....I guess they need more attack.

maybe it was just me but in some parts the vocals on walkaway sound off key...... i havent listened to the other song yet. other than that the recording sounded allright.

Hey guys, on my stuff.."EXP" is an old version and I have known of the low vox, they're fixed, and not distorting now.. I like the bass however. Funeral is a final mix though..

I USE- Sonar XL to record, Lexicon, SM 57s, Nady Drum Mics, and thats it to record. MY instruments -pearl drums, ibanez, digitech, boss, dean, and zildjian

I'm soon to get a eurorack, and some condensers..

jrlemonz -

i listened to your mp3's. sounds pretty good. I dont really like the drum tones, however them and the distortion on the guitar is fitting. I love the acoustic guitar at the begging of the 1st song. but overall pretty clean mix i just personally dont like the tones of the instruments.

btw- have you checked out Funeral???

No I haven't checked out Funeral, I will shortly though. I used a Mackie VLZ w/ SM57's/Superlux Drum Mics + Octava MK319's into a Guillemot ISIS 8x4, into Nuendo. Mixed entirely in Nuendo. The drums sound VERy flat on those mixes. They are off an upcoming album, and they will sound better once we get the final mixes down. The guitars are actually a mic'ed Line6 head through an old Peavey Cab. We might redo them seeing as how we tracked the songs 3 moths ago, and now I have JCM800 and the other guitarist has a Mesa Dual Rec. Seems like a good idea, but then again we just want this stuff DONE it has been so long. Anyways thanks for the suggestions, if you'r interested you can check out the bands website at innertruthband.com - we have all our songs off our demo (not what you heard from my links, the thing we put out before that) on mp3.com, the page is linked on our site.
