Am looking to upgrade my interface situation am considering the 18i20 .Have the 2i2 now and am fairly happy with it .Any thoughts ? Keeping in mind that is my price range.

I think you'll appreciate the software control package that comes with it. You can better balance between input signal and the playback channel, where as on the 2i2, it is not so straight forward. Plus the added number of mic pres. Always a good thing.

Am up grading want to be able to record full drum kit ,so 8 XLR inputs would be a good thing. As for the rest ,being able to expand is always a good thing , yes ?
