I know we're missing something simple here. When we mix down to master, the 1824 uses tracks 17 and 18, but when I try to burn to CD and finalize, it asks me what tracks I want to record as L and R and offers me only tracks 1-16! Is it this just the damn Japanics manual, or am I missing something obvious?-Richie

I haven't used the 1880 (just the 1680), but I'm guessing that your Master mixdown Tracks are somewhere in the upper V-Tracks of 15 and 16.

Try scolling up on 15/16 and see what you find.

Hope this helps.

Which recording mode did you use? (MTP, MAS, MT1, MT2 etc...) - I have a 1680, and when the MAS mode is used, only tracks 1-8 can be recorded to - it's not exactly obvious from the destructions, (they are written Roland-ese, after all :) ) - there may be a similar "gotcha" with the 1824. Try VS-Planet, they are usually very helpful.

Good Luck!

We're recording in MTP, which is the default. I think we have an 1824CD-specific issue here, and 1660/1880 solutions do not work. I'm waiting for a response from Laura Tyson, the Roland rep at VS Planet, but nothing yet. This is really annoying. Thanks for trying, guys, but we need to talk to somebody who uses an 1824CD, or at least an 1824.-Richie

I have not run into this problem. I have tracks 17/18 when I am finalizing.

Yes, I am using an 1824CDRW

Thanks, problem solved. The right pane button was stuck, so we couldn't access any of the v-tracks. All better now.-Richie
