Ok, my 1820 came in the other day and Ive been at it ever since, but I still can't figure some things out.
It took me forever to figure out how to record at 96 Khz, the reason I couldnt was because it just wouldnt record at that rate in soundforge, soon as I tried in cubase it worked. However, when Im recording at 96 Khz I can't listen to anything in winamp, usually I record my guitar or whatever while listening to the drums in winamp, Ive found a way around it but its still inconvenient.
Also, how do I record in 24 bit? Ive looked and fiddled for literally hours with the EMU patchmix and Ive yet to find a tab allowing me to record at 24 bit. I can tell cubase Im recording at 24 bit, and save the file at 24 bit, but I have to wonder if its an actual recording at 24 bit or if cubase just converts it when I save the file as 24 bit.
My last question is, does anybody else get very poor sound quality when listening to things in winamp? I mean it goes all distorted for a sec and goes back to normal, and then distorted, then normal etc. Maybe its dirver related?
The sound quality I'm getting from recording sounds amazing, very loud crisp clear guitar without a hint of noise, and thats great, but I like to listen to music to, and I wouldnt want to have to open soundforge or cubase or somthing and open the file to listen to it, I can only assume its the windows sound drivers, as the ASIO drivers work great (I have 2 mili second delay in VST, err the lowest delay whatever), any comments on this?
Thanks.
