16 trac multi recorder, need advice

I have a 16 track (Zoom) recorder (similiar to Tascam, et c.) I know the generals, but need advice with mixing, eq, effects, etc.

That's about a books worth of writing...

What is it you need help with? Each one of those things (eq, mixing fx) are subjects in themselves.

If you're already familiar with your owners manual...I'd suggest using the search function here and spend a few hours reading.
