The original Smile is Lo-Fi to me it is , is sound very Lo Fi Production

how can i record more like this Original smile album?

I like how brian wilson recorded the Trumpet really Lo-Fi

how did he do this?

Have you got tossed off ProSoundWeb yet? They might be able to help. Try Fletcher's forum there, under R/E/P. He is a friendly helpful guy, loves these kinds of questions.
 
Fletcher's laughing at Walters inane stuff, but I don't think he'd like Walters knocking at the door over there.

If your original Smile is a bootleg then that is the reason for the low-fi. If you have the official released version (not really a version just a bunch of songs from it) on the Beach Boys box set then your record collection is really big or you're a BB fan and probably from the States or GB. I have that box set and the recording quality is not lo-fi at all. For example, I can clearly hear the valves click on the little french horn solo motif part. You can even hear the valves slide up and down. I would think that is high quality close miking with a low s/n, etc. Now if you said the Stone's Satisfaction is lo-fi I would agree.
