I've noticed that when working with 1010LT and Home Studio, that all my audio has a ticking sound in the background. Almost like a pulsing...not really a pop as if someone were tapping a pencil on the table. The tap seems to be interrupting the desired audio when played back.

Any thoughts?

Set up;

Falcon-NW PC with 3.0 GHz cpu/800 MHz FSB, 2 80Gig 7200 rpm Western Digital hard-drive and 1024 RAM. Delta 1010LT audio card.

Thanks.

When recording, do you have a metronome set up?

I'm not too sure where it is in Home Studio, check the help file out, disable that and see if the 'tapping' sound still occurs.

If that hasn't fixed the problem, check your latency and let us know what it is set to.

It's not the metranome...it's turned off. My "effective latency" is set at 48kHz/stereo:5260.0

more on the tapping

I noticed that the tapping or interruption rate is somewhere in the range of about 200 pbs. Most noticable during sustained long notes.

I see that a lot of people are reading this but not responding...I must assume that this is going to be a head scratcher.

Just in case, I thought that I would go ahead and add a little more info. I found that this tapping/pulsating sound is directly proportional to the sampling rate I set up in HS2002.

Still no takers?

Just got off the phone with the Cakewalk folks.

They had me trying all kinds of stuff. Through the process of elimination, they left me with a recommendation to update my Delta1010 driver.

At this point I'm thinking, "yea right"..."get the customer pointed in another direction, blame the hardware cuz I have no idea what his problem is".

With nothing else to go on, I downloaded and implemented the xxx.29 version of the Delta1010 LT driver and what do ya know!

It works! I'm clean and ready to roll!

btw...this punkins' from Denver
