What exactly does Logic platinum do...? I can't figure it out, is it just for mastering and doing the final work? Does it work as a sampler, looper, etc for drums and actually constructing beats like rebirth or reason would...? This is off topic, but there is no logic forum!!! Does anyone hear...

yo! I think it should be alright, I heard that soundcards where only having problems with the earlier AMD's (200-400 range??I think??), I have an 850 cpu etc athlon blah blah, and I don't expect any problems, in fact i was planning on getting an audiophile or the delta 66... I've heard echo's...

Where can I download some drum samples etc to mess around with off the web, and what type of file is most recommended for quality and compatibility... Would I just make a soundbank and then load them from whatever software I use... thanks.

thanks dawg! but this isn't my final card, i just got it for games and so i can practice a bit with software etc... hopefully i got it for a midi I/O, but I'mnot positive if it will qualify as a midi I/O...someone tell me if the SB live value has midi I/O, it doesn't look like it, I described...

ok... The analog I/O's on the audiophile are unabalanced, If I'm not misunderstood, I'm sure the preamp connects to analog I's, this would mean yes, even if the preamp is balanced etc, the connection to the card will always be unbalanced... This results in a loss of quality, or unpredictability...

thanks! I've decided to not go with the audiophile because of it's unbalanced I/O's, apparently this has a huge effect on quality, plus 4in 4out's is not as risky as two in two out... I havn't been playing games, only using internet, if i had games this probably wouldn't be my 255'th post ')...
