    Indie Rock

hey spank.. I also like it...I like the intro once it kicks in a lot and the main riff, it's got a good rock'n feel to it....I do have to agree w/skleen, I think it feels like the drummer is following the guitars quite a bit...and I don't really care for the beat he is playing in the verse (or...

    2 more songs

hey slkeen... I listened to a couple of your songs, and I really liked them....they have a nice relaxing groove to 'em... the recordings/mixes sound pretty good to me...on the downhill coaster song, I felt like the lead was a bit overbearing on the left side, but that might just be my...

    it's been a while....

well, it's been over 2 years since my last post, but I finally finished some songs and thought I'd see if I could get any feedback...I actually feel pretty good about the overall sound of these 3 mixes... most of my previous posts were of other bands music, this is actually all my own work...

    another mix'n go round

nother download site ok, I setup a little geocities thingy so you can download from there too, and I changed the bit rate to 128, so the file is about half the size it was before... http://www.fishbrainrecords.com/seth.htm or http://www.geocities.com/prokseeman/seth.htm maybe that'll help a...

    another mix'n go round

thanks nutdot so do the instruments have more seperation on this mix? that was your "biggest qualm" last time (and that's what I worked on the most) not sure what to do w/the cymbals......guess I need to play more w/EQ or something, cuz I don't really think they will want to retrack at this...

    ogg codec

anyone experimented w/the ogg codec? I've heard from some of my audiophile friends that it works much better than MP3 and file sizes still stay small... wanna say I was told that a 128 bit ogg file sounded better (in this guys opinion--take w/a grain of salt o'course) than a 512 bit mp3 and...

Track count reality check, how many you got?

I'll have to disagree I'll have to disagree w/Wildfire and say that using a RAID setup for your data and having your OS on a seperate channel would have better performance... also, Wildfire, what you described is RAID 5 (striping w/parity), not striping/mirroring (or RAID 10) RAID 10...

    opinions please

uhhh I think the guy had sabians...not positive... maybe it was just his kit/cymbals...I just blamed it on the 57s (which I love don't get me wrong)... I recorded my little brother's band a few months prior and we had access to some condensers (Audio Technica I THINK) wasn't sure how good...

    opinions please

thanks well guys thanks for your input... I agree on the cymbal sounds (the hole drum sound IMHO)...and I think a lot of that is attributed to the fact that I had to use SM57s as overheads b/c I didn't have access to any condenser mics this go around...just not as crisp a sound I have yet to...

    opinions please

here's a tune I helped some friends of mine record, kinda just looking for opinions on mix and stuff... recorded w/N-track 3.0.2, a delta 1010, sure sm57s and sm58s, seinheissers on the toms... not much EQ or effects, just parlancer brickwall on the mixdown to keep it from clipping in a few...

    Linux Recording ??

New song from another POD person...

cool I dig it...I do have to agree w/the others that it becomes a little repititous. The only thing that I didn't like was the way it ended, I thought it stopped to abruptly. But great work, I really like it....I'm sure if you make an updated version it will just get better and better...

SB Live Drive - worth it?

RE: SB Live Drive No, it's not worth it for recording purposes. It works great as a gaming card and for other generic purposes, but for recording, get something that is dedicated to recording. I have only been able to get the Live Drive Inputs (Mic, SPDIF, etc) to work in Creative's recorder...

cool Glad you found the ones I was talking about :D ya, the thing ones (1U) can be expensive...plus they aren't very expandable (usually can only put 3 PCI cards in them)...I've found 4U to be perfect....although, I don't know if the deep ones will fit in a rack case (like SKB or...
