It's the mic he is using. You can get the same effect with a green bullet mic, which is what most singers use for that.

LOL, someone gave me some neg rep. Probably a mistake. Someone said that API is about the best you can do for preamps. I'm going to get another here shortly. The goal is to have 10 channels for recording drums.

Copyright is just a term to say it's their property, royalties is what you'll be paying. Most wont care if you record their songs, they actually welcome it. They want to collect on the publishing. You'll have to pay them for each CD sold, radio stations will have to pay when the cover is played...
