I'm looking to sell my Korg MS2000R. It's in absolute mint condition (all that needs doing is for me to restore the factory settings - I've simply changed 3-4 sounds) - used maybe 1-2 on a gig, with box and instructions.
Could anyone tell me what a fair price to ask might be in the UK?
Any...
Is there an accepted/workable way to keep hard dics quiet? I've just got a hard disc recorder that isn't exactly noisy - and with directional mics I don't suspect i would be heard - but I'm just concerned that on a live gig, people don't get distracted by it...Maybe they wouldn't hear it? I...
I've just opened mine, and the machine seems relatively noisy...although presumably with directional mics, and the recorder out of 'earshot' of these mics, nothing would show up?
Are there any tricks for keeping something like this a little quieter, say if it were onstage at a (concert, rather...
I'm not sure if this is a stupid question or not ;)
I would like to get a stereo bar for recording X/Y with two condenser mics I have. I believe for this technique, I need the mics placed one above the other. However, from the online pictures I can find, it is not obvious that the bars...
Just noticed this

On their website. Do I understand right that I'll only need an adaptor, and not a transformer?
Sorry...a really dumb question coming up...
If I were to buy a product from a US store (probably Computer Audio in this case), would it work in the UK? The plug would presumably be a problem, but would the thing work with an adapter? What I want to pick up is a Fostex hard disc recorder, FWIW...
Cheers Orc, thanks for the help
Decisions decisions decisions...I'm really torn between the facility of the inbuilt CD burner on the VF160EX, and the attractive price of the MR8HD, given that recording-wise, it's also got all I really need...
Hi Ed,
Thanks a lot for the response. So these machines will work fine with my average family PC?
Also, do I lose any functionality at all by not having the inbuilt drive? Is it simply the convenience which is surrendered?
Cheers,
Alex
I asked a few of these in the VF160EX thread, but since learning a bit more about these machines, I am beginning to think that the MR8-HD might be more suited to my needs. If anyone can help with these questions, I'd be really grateful.
1) A past thread cast some doubt as to whether the MR8-HD...
Unfortunately I'm in the UK, so it'll set me back a little more than that - which is why I'm now seriously thinking about the MR8-HD. Just trying to understand how to get data onto a PC...do I need to buy anything extra for my PC?
I'm beginning to think, the more I get into this, that - given also I'm on a tight budget - the mr80HD might be the way to go. From the experience I've had, the stereo pair is the sound I like (I do almost exclusively classical/jazz), so the only time in the foreseeable future I can see needing...
Asked a similar question in a thread in the Fostex area, but wondered if anyone could comment on how the 2488 and the Fostex VF160ex stack up against one another? I think I could get a 2488 for 'only' £40-50 more than the Fostex...
Thanks in advance!
Is that to say that you would still go with Fostex over Tascam (I believe the price differential - translated from £ to $ - would be around $90)? As you hint, I'm a bit concerned about customer service issues etc. that I've read about Tascam, and heard good things about Fostex. Also build...
One other question - I get the impression (from reading around) that, as well as being marginally cheaper, that this machine is overall better than the Tascam 2488. Does that seem fair?
