A drum machine, that you can play pads to an existing track?? No pc, no midi.

Hello. I have not been here for ages. Reason being that I have been busy, and not recording either. Mostly gigging/touring with my bands, work, got two sons etc.. Now again, I think I should record some solo stuff. I don't want to bother/involve drummers of my bands.. But I'm utterly...

    first gig soon!

Around here, DI out from the bass-head is the usual MO, if available. Unless playing totally without PA, or only vox and kicks or something.. Usually the soundmen are fucking terrible. Usually the stage is booming so much (hollow stage, subwoofers under it..etc) that you simply can't crank the...

    pick ups

Bare knuckle Pickups. Almost as hot as actives, but passive, saves hassle. Warpig and Nailbomb have been praised a lot... I'm thinking Black dogs to my baritone..

    Baritone Electric Guitars

For 200-300 bucks... I think you'd have to settle for a Danelectro or sumthing... Maybe, if you can find a used Epi LP baritone. ESP ltd also got some in a cheaper pricerange. Personally I play Gibby LP baritone (found it dirt cheap), and an Epi as a backup. The Epi is as good as the Gibby...

Been up to this the past year or so..(metal)

The first album of my band. Recorded (most part), mixed (most part) and mastered by myself. Recorded at our rehealsalplace. Total recording/mixing/mastering costs: under 600euros.:o youtube, from a MetalHammer collection: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjxlHSZ54HU The album as whole streamed...

    Amps?

One cost effective thing that I've done too, was getting a good CLEAN amp, and then trying out pedals/preamps... more expensive in the long run, but you get to disperse the costs and try out more different sounds..

    7 string guitar recording advice

My both metalbands play in B... While mixing that rumble together, I pay alot of attention to the TOP-ends of the sounds. like maybe: -kick: boost at 80hz AND 2000hz and cut seriously away around those frequencies. -bass: boost at 150hz AND 3000hz cut mud out from 300hz, kill everything above...

    Amps?

Phaez. Also known as "ontariomaximus". A Canadian builder of somewhat customized amps. I've got one of his "daisycutter" amps with 2x6l6 powersection and couldn't be a happier camper. The youtubeclips depict a rockish hi-gain amp, but I've thrown four blackmetalgigs with the 30watt beast in big...

    guitar noise when i record

uhmm... for a mastered clip it was pretty "under the blanket", but I couldn't hear any static.... But the 60-cycle hum gets you differently in different places, for example, amps dead quiet at home scream bloody hell when lid up at the rehealsalplace. Try changing location?

HELP NEEDED: Tube Amp too quiet?

It IS possible to put in 2 power tubes, then swap one of them one at a time to see if there are dead ones. But new tubes are the best bet anyway without the hassle. Warranty.

    Recording Slide. Noisey. Strings?

I'd think that if you're playing with an acoustic, you ARE after the noises it produces, if you want a cleaner sound: record it from a clean electric guitar. You can do BOTH, and then mix the noises in according to taste?? That in mind, I made myself a really heavy slide from stainless steel...

When do you get time to play?

I've had the "7am to 16pm" work for years, and a girlfriend, now a 11month-boy. Get a band, and a rehealsalplace. Only way for me to steal acouple of hours, is to go there. with or without the rest of the band. :D

    Best isolation in "in-ear" phones?

The Ashton is a wireless setup, which might be the culprit on the hiss. If I recall I tried a set of headphones straight from the Behringer phones out, and it was dead quiet. (I know behringer isn't top-class :D) I took the Behringer 1002B since 10-inputs are enough and it's cheap, also...

    Best isolation in "in-ear" phones?

Yeah, those would work.:) Unfortunately, I'm looking for live use, got some gigs lined up, foreign countries and shit... I'll look into Skull candy..

    2x12, 4x12, what you like?

My 4x12" on guitar is solid pine, sucks ass, sounds honky. My deeper 2x12" (peavey) sounds really raunchy and good, the smaller-cabinet other 2x12 is usable, but not as raunchy. Allthough. a Koch Pedaltone through a Sovtek Bassov blues midget, makes even that small 2x12" sound like a serious...

    Best isolation in "in-ear" phones?

Hi! Got myself a budget IEM:s (Ashton iem200) a behringer mixer (xenyx 1002B) and a e609 mic, for live monitoring. The problem seems to be: A when cranked in volume, there is notable hiss. B If not cranked, the bass and rest of the band tend to bleed through so much, that they are useless. Jouni

    Silly Ampeg 810 question.

lt. Bob had it nailed, never gonna happen! :D Oh, yes I've tried telling the dudes to back off on volume. :o The original question was to elevate the bass speakers from the floorlevel to closer to the bassist's ears, so he MIGHT drop off some volume. ..didn't happen. We wear earplugs. We have...
