Have posted this here before....bought another M80 for parts....pinch roller shaft is larger on the one I got for parts.....so being the glutton for punishment I am....I bought another one.....now,the pinch roller shaft is the same size as my main recorder....the one I just recieved is running...

Looking for a capstan pinch roller.....bought a parts machine but it works except the roller is gone and the one on my other M 80 wont fit the shaft,,,so I'm looking for one so I can have the shaft hole machined larger.....HELP :confused:

Ok...I posted this in the Fostex forum,and so far have gotten no answers,so I"ll try it here......I bought another M80 for parts on Ebay....said it powered up but nothing else.....I get it and the capstan pinch roller is missing..I try out all the functions and they work.....so I figured I'd put...

I just bought another fostex M 80 for parts......It seems to work except the capstan pinch roller is gone,I tried to put the one from my other M 80 on it to check it out but the shaft for the roller on the parts machine is bigger, so the roller won't fit..other than that they are...

Just picked up a soundtech ST 122 mixer....I'm wondering if I can use the inserts as direct outs.........my other mixers have direct outs,so I don't really need them,but they could come in handy sometime......I believe the are post EQ,but there are jumpers that can be changed inside to make them...

Was wondering which order members tweek their eq when mixing......Bass first,last ,in the middle, etc.......and advantages of each if any......I seem to mostly do it helter skelter,which I'm sure wastes time....... :confused:

Got a Fostex model 80 recently..haven't found a manual yet......There is a small tab protruding from under the head cover that is attached to bar......what is this for?....and also a little pop up thingie.....just wondering..... :confused:

Is this a decent tape? A nearby electronics store has it for 14.00 for a 1800 foot reel..........I've usually used BASF......would like to try this...........

Isn't the Fostex M80 8 track a 2 speed unit?And if it is,how do you change the speed........bought one with no manual.......everything else is pretty straight forward.....Thanks
