I have a yamaha mg 12/4 mixer and a presonus firebox....is there any way that I could for example have two mic's go to one channel and have two different mic's go to another? would I use group out or st out?

when I go to add effects it just says " no effects and Direct X"....any ideas how to correct this?.

I'm trying to record my drums with a firebox and a mg 12/4. I'm going from the rec out on the mixer, to the third line in of the firebox...but it's not working....what am I doing wrong?...I'm guessing I need to make the adjustment in the software somewhere?? because it works when I use channels...
