well...mr. UPS brought me a bundle of joy today...but i can't really play with them yet because of the inputs...either 1/4 inch or XLR, and the outputs for the akai dps16 are RCA...SO, i can EITHER get RCA to 1/4 inch connectors ant use the monitor outs from the AKAI, OR i could buy XLR cables...

o.k....so now i'm up and running with the akai dps16. it in fact DOES have 16 individual channels of EQ, which can be run simultaneously and is purty darned cool....at any rate, i've come to the dramatic conclusion that a good pair of monitors are an absolute necessity for proper mixing. OH...

well..i got the unit today! i think it is pretty great...easy and fairly intuitive... BUT i my first attempt at recording had a problem...the hard disc was making this "tick tock" sound that would be totally unacceptable if i were using a live mike in the same room....i am unsure why it did...
