I just got my 244 porta repaired and my second day recording on it, the phone rings, i TAP the stop button and CRUNCH. The button smushes under my finger and falls half into it's hole. Does anyone know how to get to the cassette button area so I can maybe fix it myself? If anyone's done this...

i just took out 6550's and put em back in. now it doesn't work and they're microphonic. what did I do wrong? It's a Sunn Model T (original) so I thought I could do this and be ok to make it a lower wattage.

I have 2 machines. A Teac 4010 and an Akai M-8. What is possible with these two machines as far as tracking on one, mixing on the other. Or tricks. The M-8 has onboard tube mic-pres. the 4010 does not. therefore the M-8 is the tracking and the 4010 I want to use so the M-8 doesn't wear...
