I'm looking for suggestions for replacing my Strat's pick-ups. I like the single coil traditional "strat" sound but hate the noise in the studio. What do some of the pro strat players use? Or can you advise on where to find out?? THANKS

Thanks for all the responces I was out of town for the weekend and didnt see them untill now. Strats with single coil pickups seem to be real noisy and I have a guy that uses an old strat and plays threw a Fender amp, he will be recording in Jan at my studio, in the past it has been pretty hard...

I love my dm24 but I do not use a computer, but most people that have the dm24 do use a computer so check out the Tascam forum website under Dm24 and there are plenty of people there that can help you.

I will have to say the C1 is not my most used mic but it gets used more then a lot of others, my Rode NTK and my AT 4033 and 4050 get used more on vocals but there are ocassions where I use for backups or a second mic on a guitar amp things such as this, very good for the money.

The Tascam is by far used more in Pro studios, I would go to the Tascam forum and do a search on it. I have used it a few times and have even concedered getting one myself of late.

I love motorized faders, once you get used to them its hard to imagine ever not being able to use them.

They also go from very low volumes to very high volumes, So a compressor will be needed, I have also done them direct into a tube pre then comp then into the board and had really good results also or you could go direct and use a good condenser mic and combine the tracks.

If it has the symbal on the corner of the tape, I think it says TDIF but I cant remember for sure, I know it when I see it , it means its indorsed by tascam and they the tapes should work fine, but as for myself I do tend to use Quantegy and Basf the most.

I know less and less people are using them BUT I still have three that I use a lot. (DA 78's) They are all around 900 hours of usage and they are currently not showing error rates when checked. Soooo does anyone know the average life time of the drum heads?? Because it costs about $500 dollors...
