OK, I tried multiple sound sources, inputs and cables. All the same issue. I also hooked up my multimeter and measured the voltage from channel 1 and channel 2 when passing a 60hz signal through the amp. Channel 2 was 3x louder than channel 1 at 50% volume and above.

hey thanks for the reply. I actually did try multiple cables and multiple sources (two different sound cards on the computer and also from an iPod). But I will try again to double check and also I'll try the 1/4 inputs on the amp to see if that makes a difference.

Damn, you're right! There's actually only two analog ins - you can use either the XLR inputs or the 1/4" on the back. Well, that makes it a pretty easy decision!
