the buffers open up the ram for processing, which causes latency. processing time that may not be needed. Some say keep the buffers low while tracking and high while mixing. I never adjust mine and do just fine.

For a midi drum beat to go out of time? I could swear that when I recorded everything was on the beat, now when I listen back, after several times, it's out of time.
