    Harbinger HA60/120: Worth the money?

Hey guys, I'm looking to get my very first PA and speakers and was looking at getting either the Harbinger HA60 or HA120 as a starter set. I need it to be loud enough for practice and, if we get there, small shows. I'll only be using it for vocals as we have everything else amped at the moment...

    Shure-- SM57 vs SM58?

I'm looking at getting a new mic (the one I have now is a pretty awful Peavey Mic) and I'm looking at the two Shure mics listed above. I play guitar, bass, and do vocals, so my question is-- will the SM57 (listed as the "instrument" mic) do a passable job with vocals, or should I save that for...

    Like a helicopter... Tascam US-144MKII

Okay, so an admitted newb, I went and bought my first audio interface today, listed in the title. Essentially, everything, whether mic or bass or anything, has loud, continual popping, like a helicopter at any volume or any setting, in Audacity and in Reaper. Tech specs 2.6GhZ Core 2 Duo 2 gb...

    Sound Card AND Interface?

One last question-- four channel DOES refer to four inputs, right? Meaning that I COULD record guitar, bass, and vocals to it simultaneously? I'm 99% on this but I'd hate to make a stupid mistake.

    Sound Card AND Interface?

Thanks for the clarification. To make sure I have it right, "You can sum the inputs to a mono output" refers to combining the tracks in my DAW (in my case, Audacity since free = good) from the multitrack inputs?

    Sound Card AND Interface?

According to the link listed above, the Alesis is a "Four-channel mixer with USB stereo input and output". Will that be what I'm looking for? According to the specs, both lines 1 and 2 are High-Impedance (10k Ω), which would allow for guitar and bass and the XLR slots would be for my mics. Am I...

    Sound Card AND Interface?

Thanks for the reply. The Alesis looks nice and is definitely cheaper than the M Audio one I was looking at. Another newb question: impedance. I'd like to be able to record simultaneously a guitar, bass, and vocals on separate tracks. The Alesis has only one "high impedance" channel, and the...

    Sound Card AND Interface?

Hey, as a continuation to my other thread... I'm looking to start recording directly to my PC. I've got Audacity set up, but do I need a new sound card AND a new audio interface to make it sound decent? My budget isn't huge as this is purely a recreational pursuit, so if it's possible to trim...

    Fast Track Ultra?

Okay, so I am an extreme newbie at recording (this is my first post), and I've been looking to upgrade to something that actually sounds decent. After looking on this forum and a few other places, I thought that the Fast Track Ultra would be perfect for what I need to do. However, after looking...
