I don't need to know the specific part, I'm just not sure what the part is generally referred to as. It is the shaft you place the reel of tape onto on the deck. If i'm not being clear enough, I can provide a picture.

you should just keep an eye on local craigslist listings. you could probably find a juno for under 500 and it's a pretty hard working synth if you don't mind that it has DCOs.

I found the make I used to use on amazon(TDK SM60) for about 6 dollars apiece. This really sucks cause two years ago I would've gotten a 10 pack for 25 bucks. Aside from amazon and ebay, I'm lost as far as finding cassettes for my little tascam. Thanks

I received an at2020usb as a present a while ago. I gotta say it sounds pretty good for anything, not just podcasts. If you don't mind overdubbing and tracking everything separately, I would highly recommend it.

The manual says nothing about oiling, which is what I was going to depend on for instructions. I actually got the tape recorder working pretty much perfectly after replacing the capstan belt and a thorough cleaning of the heads. Output on the 4th channel is a little weaker than the other three...

Okay, I opened up the machine and found that there simply is no capstan belt, only a few sticky shreds of what used to be one. How do I acquire a new belt without paying too much and how do I put it back on without screwing anything up? Thanks!
