As far as Nady,I bought a 12" monitor speaker from musicians friend for 89.00. I wish I could of heard it 1st.Should of spent more for a good used monitor but it does what I need for now. I wouldn't recomend it

Hiya Reel, I'm a Tascam nut collector too. Had a 424MKII, Sold it, need $$ and that's a desireable piece,Have a EX. to mint 246, a 234, 238 an ex.388 an ex.porta1, a 464. What I have found is the 234 is a notch above the 246. And the 246 is an outstanding 4 track. Your thoughts

Check ot Ebay,For 200.00 you can find a Tascam 424.You can record 4 tracks at at time. if you can come up with another 40.00 that will put you into 424MKII and 464 territory,The best cassette 4 track/mixer ever made.I'm biased,I love Tascam products
