    Splitting or panning Guitars?

always pan guitars 100 percent left and right. always double track rhythm guitars. For tricky leads, just do one take and duplicate it.

using auxiliary tracks as a "pre amp"

Ok so heres the problem. I hjave to fix something that i woudl rather just re track, but i dont have the equipment at this point. Basically i tracked my gutiar to hot. They were constantly peaking at 0 db. So i had a thought: what if i made sent my track to an aux input, then sent the aux...

i will pay someone for a mixing lesson

So mi horrible at mixing. Horrible at using eq filters, compression, dithers, etc. I will pay someone 20 dollars to do this: i will send you my pro tools session. all tracks are done, the guitars, bass, vocals, and drums. There are a total of 4 guitar tracks: two double tracked rhythms, and...

I'm wanting to create my OWN drum parts ...

use a program called guitar pro 5 Once you have programmed your drums, export the midi and import it into your DAW From there, set the output of the midi track to your drum program. Your drum program will play it, since the midi is standard midi.

separate partition vs separate hard drive?

ok, I fully understand the best thing is to just get a separate hard drive, which i am planning on doing. BUt until then, what would be the better option: Keeping project files on a separate partition Keeping project files on a USB hard drive Currently those are my only two options.

    Pro-Tools is REDICULOUSLY slow/glitchy, help!

wait, what does this mean?!@ I have 4 gb of ram, and i actually downgraded from windows 7 to XP professional (32 bits, im running 7.4) and it works so much better. I know that there is a theoretical memory cap on 32 bit OS for somewhere at 3gb, so shouldnt i be able to optimize up to 3 gb?

Hello I like a wide range of music and i love recording many different types of music, ranging from pop, emo, rap, country, and even death metal. I just bought a fairly cheap condensor mic (AT3035) and so far its been really good for my clean vocals. BUt now im planning on recording some...

    Pro-Tools is REDICULOUSLY slow/glitchy, help!

i dont mean to be a dick, but the OP might be trolling. The pro tools installer runs a diagnostic, and it wont even install if the computer doesn't meet ram/CPU requirements.

separate partition vs separate hard drive?

Hello Im getting into the whole pro tools thing, and it seems that (for all DAWs actually) you want a separate hard drive dedicated only to project files. What if i just made a separate partition? i know its not the same, but what sacrifices will i be making? Thanks
