I have an AT3035 that pretty much gives me the sound I want for my voice, but it's just a little shrill and kinda cheap sounding. So which Audio Technica mic has basically the same sound as the AT3035, but has a less harsh top-end and stacks better during mixing?
In the documentary "HYPE!" almost all of the bands are using the same vocal mic. I can tell it's an EV N/D, but I'm not sure of the model. Anyone recognize it?
I've read that MCI tape machines have their own unique sound that people either love or hate. I was wondering if anyone here could describe the sound. Is it dark, bright...etc?

I like strats with single coils, but sometimes I want more of a humbucker sound. Will an EQ pedal be able to get me close to a "humbuckery" sound? What's recommended, running the EQ before or after the overdrive pedal?
OK, this deck has the Dolby logo on the front, so I guess it has Dolby B NR. It also has this red logo that says "Metal." Does this mean the bias is set for type IV tapes?
