Me neither, but I didn't know if the impedance difference would make much of a difference in a small SS amp... :confused: I guess to split hairs, the parameters are adjusted to between 3.2 & 16 ohms, when the load originally spec'ed by crate is 4 ohms....

Strictly for the sake of conversation I point out that I've seen a few metal bands who play the Peavey XXX/5150/etc. by choice it would seem.... I've also heard that the Crate V series (V5 < $100) is a lot of amp for the $.

I'm an exceedingly easy-to-please person, but I love my Tech 21 GT2, though it is a little noisy. For that matter, I hear that the Behringer (GASP!) ripoffs are a huge value and can convincingly mock the GT2's/etc.

Out of curiosity, what kind of speakers are used in 4x12's rated 300-400 watts? Is this peak as opposed to continuous wattage? The reason I ask is because Avatar rates a 4x12 loaded with Celestion V30's at 240 watts....

10-4 on the impedance. So does it necessarily stand to reason that because a 100 watt head (tube) can power two 4x12 cab's that a 50 watt head can power one 4x12? Additionally, could a 50 watt head (tubes) power two 4x12's as well???

I'm thinking about getting an Avatar 4x12 that has four Vintage 30s at 240 watts. Primarily I would be using my Mesa single rectumfrier (50 watts) through it, but I'd also occasionally plug in my Crate 120 watt amp as well... It's not too much cab for a 50 watt tube amp, is it? :confused:
