    Alternative similar to Vegas?

Yeah, what pipeline said. :) I'm using Vegas 3.0 mainly for audio right now, but it's nice to know that I could do video work with it if/when the need arises.

    drums and stuffffff...

While I was seriously considering Reel Drums, I ended up getting the Sonic Foundry Drum Tools instead. It was less expensive and I needed the loops right *now* for a project. I think I'll still get the Reel Drums at some point, but let me say, I am not disappointed with the Drum Tools library...

    Which Acid to .. ?

Dude, Vegas is what you want for tracking audio. Acid, with Vegas and Sound Forge, is a great combination. Worth every penny you spend on it, IMO. Plus, when your album is recorded, you can use Vegas to then make your music video. :) Good luck!

    SR16 patterns into Acid

Hey there, I've got an Alesis SR 16 drum machine and thought, wouldn't it be cool to take the patterns I have on that and put them into Acid 4.0. The best of both worlds for this one man home studio. :) I tried this with a simple, preset rock pattern. I brought it into Sound Forge and cut it...

Question for Sound Forge 6 owners

Dude, that's a drag! You mean you have the full version of 5 and it's nagging you about registering to save as MP3's? Maybe a quick call to their customer service (NOT support) could fix that for you. I've found them to be friendly and helpful. I have SF6 and have not once been nagged about...

    drums and stuffffff...

Hey, it's been awhile since there's been anything posted on this thread....MC, did you ever find some good drums for use with Vegas? I want to find good drums for Acid, then bring them into Vegas. Here's what I've looked at so far (for Acid): - Mick Fleetwood loops from Sonic Foundry. The...

    Vegas audio is dragging along...

For now, it was my only option, as I had to get some work done. As a network engineer by day (voice guy by night), I really did not want to have to go back to 98SE for exactly the reasons you stated. I actually preferred to run W2K, but the symptoms were the same the last time I tried. I had...

    Vegas audio is dragging along...

More research and checking with colleagues points me in the direction of ditching XP in favor of Windows 98SE. Lots of people having similar symptoms with XP and sound cards. Argh. So, I scratch loaded it all tonight back to Windows 98SE because I have work to get done with this PC. Every...

    Vegas audio is dragging along...

Hi there, I searched here, at the SF website, Google web and groups, but am coming up short. Here's the scoop. I've been using ntrack for multitracking, but lately, I've become a poster child for Sonic Foundry. Tried the demo of Acid. Bought it. Read great things about Sound Forge. Bought it...

    soundforge vs cooleditpro

Cool Edit does multitracking, whereas I don't believe Sound Forge does. I demo'd both apps and chose SF because I was looking for a killer editor with a little mastering ability. However, CEP is definitely good at what it does. As suggested, it might be worth your time to grab the demos and...

    SF vs. CEP

Is it an editor only? From the reading I've been doing, I was starting to think it Sound Forge is more than an editor, but also suitable for mastering. True or false? I downloaded the demo for Sound Forge 6 and am really close to buying it! The main reason I started looking at it was to edit...

    Snow

Dude! That is a great tune! I've heard finished CD's that didn't sound as good as this. Super job! And the videos are awesome! I know this is a recording BBS, but what program do you use for the animation? I have a good friend who is getting pretty good with 3D studiomax, but isn't sure if he...

    Bad AT3035?

I agree with tanberg. I just bought one last weekend and it sounds as good as I thought it might. Bought it based on recommendations here and other reviews online and I am not disappointed. Good luck!

    Radio spot - airworthy?

No, no, I think it's a cover of a song I heard on my Atari 2600. Childhood influence. Then again, it might be Hendrix. :) Thanks, participant. I probably shouldn't have been voicing last night. I listened to it again this morning and I can hear that too. I also hear an extremely wet mouth...

    Radio spot - airworthy?

It's not a tune, but it IS a recording: http://www.penguindude.com/audio/gettig-message.mp3 It's about an 860k download. I'll be doing songs for sure at some point, but right now I'm piecing together a voiceover business. Here's the process on my Athlon AXP 1800 with the Audiophile 2496 card...

What the heck. I bought it. It's exactly what I thought it would be.

    Acid Loop library: Twisted Reality

Has anyone used the "Twisted Reality" loop library from Sonic Foundry? I'm thinking of getting it for "power part" usage constructing music beds for broadcast. Any reviews? Something better you can point me to? I've used some of the sample loops from what came with Acid to produce power parts...

    normalize crashes win98

Update: I can normalize one track, but when I try to normalize a second track, it crashes. If I close the program and go back in, I can normalize one more track. Try again and it crashes. By repeatedly crashing and getting back in, I was able to normalize one track at a time. Weird.

    normalize crashes win98

I asked this on the ntrack board, but thought I would ask here as well. When normalizing a track, ntrack crashes with an IPF. Specifically: NTRACK caused an invalid page fault in module NTRACK.EXE at 0167:004cf573. My system specs: win98 on an athlon axp 1800, audiophile 2496, 256 MB RAM...

    Voice over mic

bought it! After going back and forth between the Rode NT1 and the Audio Technica 3035, I bought the 3035. It sounded just a bit more full standing there at the microphone wall with headphones on. I also found an excellent review at EQ about it that helped me decide. I opted not to get the...
