    Cubase SX 3.0 problem

You will need to reinstall either your plugins, Cubase, or both. I've been using the program for years and have had something similar happen about 2 years ago. It was a corrupted .dll from my Guitar Rig plugin. I noticed that the project crashed every time during that plugs load. I dumped...

    Fender Marcus Miller bass FS

My bad.... didn't realize we were splitting hairs that fine here. How about "You can buy it if you want to?" That would probably be the most accurate description.

Jitter Clock speeds on audio interfaces?

Obviously I don't have the math background to participate on dgatwoods level. I'm just a musician looking to use these tools of science to make sound in a pleasing way. Do you contend that the Delta 66 performes at the same level as say an Apogee Rosetta or RME 800? I used a Delta 1010 for...

Jitter Clock speeds on audio interfaces?

E- Which A/D/C have you used and what did you use them with? That's a very bold statement without much fact for backing it up. Have you ever used the Apogee BigBen as a master house clock?

    FW-1884, G5, Clicks and Pops?!

Have you checked the compatibility of your software with dual processors? I remember when Cubase couldn't support HyperThreading (since been patched).

    tascam fw-1082

I would also check to see if the software supports Mackie HUI or controll surfaces. If it does try to use the Makie Emulation mode within the driver panel.

    FW-1884, G5, Clicks and Pops?!

Have you updated to the current drivers and Firmware revision? Have you updated your OS and hardware firmware for the G5?

I'm not sure what you mean by sync. If you have the drivers installed and select it as your I/O device it will be in sync.

Help With Mpc 1000 !!!! MIDI FRUSTRATED

I've been using Battery 2 for a few years and really love it. Battery 3 is even better from what I hear. If I were you I would also consider DrumsFromHell by East West. That stuff sounds as good as you can get from samples.

Stability: Pro Tools vs Steinberg, etc

Everytime I do the Cubase SX vs. PT HD comparison I end up going back to Cubase. Most of my PT experience is in the labs at school (all G5s, LE and HD rig w/ 4GB of RAM and multi accel cards). I've seen the HD system crash dozens of times. PT is very tempermental in regards to the correct...

    Going Back to Analogue/Digital/Midi Basics

VGreen - You have a good foundation and basic understanding of what you have put forth. There are a few things you will learn the longer you stay involved with this stuff. For example, analogue (analog) implies that the signal is already converted to "electro-mechanical." Before sound...

you only thought you understood MIDI... If you have questions read this first!

That's very interesting Orc. I've always found MIDI to be like another instrument. It takes practice to be good, and intense study to be used at a professional level. How did MIDI ruin your music?

    Delta 1010LT Problem

Make sure that you have the ASIO drivers selected within the "Device Setup" window. I'll check my home setup later tonight if that doesn't work. I've used the 1010 without problems for years.

Excellent comments.... V-Green - Your points are valid and well taken. Perhaps I should have a nicer tone to my original post. There were two post in particular that sparked my interest. One went something like "Midis suck because you can't burn them to CDs." The other was "What is MIDI?"...
