    Roland SC-8850 Vs Yahama SW1000XG??

The trumpets, trombones and tubas sound pretty good to me. I don't use them much though, so you may want to get some other opinions.

    Roland SC-8850 Vs Yahama SW1000XG??

Howzit, I have an SC 8850 and it sounds pretty good to me. It has over 1600 sounds and serves my purpose well. However, some of the sounds don't sound as realistic as I hoped they would. For example, the saxaphone, clarinet, etc. The strings sound real good, and so do the drums, bass, guitar...

the final mixdown (.wav file) is thin

Try "normalizing" the mixdown wavefile to 96% and see how that sounds. That's what I do when I export audio files out of cubase into cool edit and it works well for me.

    IV Chord

A jazz minor scale plays very nicely against that IVm chord.

    Ritardandi

Just thought I'd let everyone know that i figured it out. Thanks anyway.

    Ritardandi

I've been trying to create a ritardandi in the Master Track Graphic Editor and although I think I've been following the manual closely, I've been unable to make anything happen. Anyone able to help? Appreciate it.

    glitch/stutter

I had the same problem. Try cutting back on your hardware acceleration in the control panel - that cleared it up for me.

    cd burner

Agree with Drstawl.........Tascam CD-RW5000 is super because it will record from any source. I use it to master my projects. I use my internal burner to make copies of the master I made on the Tascam.

    stand-alone cd burners

Alright, alright...one of my redeeming qualities (and there are just a few) is that I'm able to realize when I'm wrong, and more importantly, admit when I'm wrong. My sincere apologies for the ignorant, nasty remarks I made to you, Aaron (Misterqcue). I was out of line. Your reply to my...

    stand-alone cd burners

Sorry, but i gotta say this to you, Misterqcue or whatever your name is: when you say that standalone CD recorders are unsuitable for mastering one's music, you show me that you're full of it, and after a while, everyone else who reads your posts will realize it too. OK, I feel better...

    TOC from Tascam?

Howzit Misterqcue.... I do finalize all the disks I record on the Tascam. That's why they will play on most other players. I think the problem is somewhere else, but I can't figure it out. Maybe it's something peculiar to Tascam, I don't know. Thanks anyway.

Commercial CDs work, why not PC burned CDs?

I have the same problem with my Panasonic DVD/CD player. But I actually found a place in the owners' manual that says not to use CDR media in the player! That could be the case with you. The way a commercially produced CD is made is different from how we burn our copies. The commercial ones...

    TOC from Tascam?

Anybody ever experience this? I have a Tascam CDRW5000 standalone CD recorder, as well as a Sony internal CD burner. The disks I record with my Tascam can't seem to be read by my Alpine car stereo deck, while the disks I do with my Sony can. My alpine deck is the only deck so far that won't...

    recording tapes to cd...

The most inexpensive way would be to use a program like Cool Edit 2000 (around 70 bucks). I have cubase and cakewalk, but cool edit is much easier and the results are just as good. Go to cooledit.com and find out about it. You can also enhance the wave files (normalizing, reverb, noise...

    Edirol sound canvas by roland

I have the SC8850 and am pretty happy with it. I think I paid about 800 bucks for it. To me it sounds great, but I'm not that experienced, so I couldn't tell you how it sounds compared to something else. I have it hooked up to my UA100. to me, the sounds are very realistic, but like I said...

    Pirate Software

Hey Dingo, I guarantee you that not one person here is going to stop using pirated software because of what you're saying. Even though you ARE right, you're starting to sound like the bad guy here, so take a break, time out, take it easy bruddah. You're the good guy here....don't turn it...

    Problems recording through my computer

I would guess that the input levels on your computer are too high. Have you tried lowering the volume on your bass? Is it ONLY your bass that is distorting? Another cause could be that the effects are on (?). That's what happened to me the first time I tried recording through my Roland UA100...

    Turntables?

Howzit, Well, what I ended up doing is plugging my turntable into the phono input of my Fisher receiver, then from there into a Mackie 1202 mixer, and then from there into the soundcard of my computer. And you know what? It ain't half bad! Anyway, there's probably a better and less...

    Pirate Software

About a year ago I bid on what I thought was a used Cubase VST/24 on Ebay. What I got instead was a cracked version, AS WELL AS many other cracked programs worth literally thousands of dollars. A good friend of mine works in a studio over here and couldn't believe what was included on this CD...
