http://www.homerecording.com/bbs/forumdisplay.php?f=20 There's a huge thread with a ton of people's studio pictures in there. EDIT: Ah, you already know about that forum. Well, the mega thread is in there somewhere, you'll just have to find it. :)

Ivory 1.5 export in sx3 problem

Hmmmmm....I'm not sure. But a temporary workaround may be trying a real-time export. Just an idea. :D

    Funky-ish Rock-ish Song

Hey guys, Thanks for the listens. After listening to it again, I think you guys are right, I need to bring the gain WAYYY down. I love this Brian May amp, because you can have almost no gain at all, but it is sill nice and crunchy, just how I like it. I think that will improve it a lot...

    John Mayer's guitar tone?

Does anyone know what gear he uses to get that awesome crunchy distortion? I just heard his new live album, and it is INCREDIBLE. His tone is just soooooo sweet. Anyway....if anyone knows about this, that would be insanely awesome. Thanks in advance!! :D :D

    Monitors

You have monitors so that you can hear an accurate representation of what you are recording. If you aren't hearing your music accurately, then how can you make appropriate decisions as to how to eq or add effects and whatnot? Yes. You need them. The best ones that you can afford.

    SM7 through a Mini-Me

Ahh yes, but that's just it. You may have less features, but I would say that those features would be of better quality. Just think about, even with just the number of preamps. 2 vs. 4. For the same amount of money, they can then put in better components than if they have to have twice as...

    12' Adat Toslink's for $5 and under?

Get the standard size. The only place I have seen those mini ones is for stuff with Minidiscs, because they have a digital input, but it is on a small jack.

    Reverb Suggestions?

You'll be fine. I'm assuming that LE is VST 2.0 compatible. The only reason they put that in there is because some people think that VST's are standalone programs, which they obviously are not. You need a program to run them in. Hence the requirement.

    Recording While Monitoring (cubase Sx3)

By getting a real soundcard. And a "real" mic. With this setup, I don't know if you can use the built in sound for output and the USB mic for input. I just don't know enough about the USB mics, because I never cared to look into them. Seriously, I think that that would be your best option...

    Funky-ish Rock-ish Song

http://www.lightningmp3.com/live/file.php?fid=2795 Well, there it is. I'm gonna add real drums and vocals, as well as a solo later, but I only had an hour to do this, and I'm happy with it. I mainly did it for songwriting purposes. We'll rerecord it later. The drums are straight up MIDI...

Trying for that Led Zeppelin Sound&Vibe..

That is one of the most awesome songs ever. I really like your rendition of it. It still has some of that Zeppelin vibe, but you made it your own, and almost sort of "modernized" it, what with the higher gain and stuff. Sounds good man! I think a couple of the bass parts aren't what JPJ...

    Rode NT1000 - too excessive highs .....

I have a NT1000, and I don't consider it overly bright. Sure, it may be a little bit, but I have never had a problem with it. Maybe I just got lucky. :D

    Very Noisy

Get rid of your POS soundblaster, which it sounds like that is what you have. And the Behringer. Berrys are notorious for being very noisy. I haven't used that model, so maybe its not as bad as I think, but I'd take a gander at it and say that it is the Berry that is causing the noise.
