Bit with a 488, it's simple right? There are eight tracks to record on, no bouncing required unless you want more than 8 tracks, I never have more than two sources recording at the same time. so no problems?...well sort of

For creating master tapes with one song per track,it makes sense for the tape to be a short as possible right? like 20 or 3 anybody know about TDK SM-X20 tapes? I've been using TDK SM-60's but having drop out issues with them.
