New Song - Spots On The Sun

It's a very nice production and instrumentation! I also think the vocal is a bit top-endy.. The guitar part, though it sounds good and has nice effects, sounds like a person for whom guitar is not their main specialty..

Blues rock-ish tune, mix opinions please!

Here's my latest tune, I think it's turning out not too bad, just the first mix.. Any opinions on the mix or composition appreciated! I already know I'm a mediocre singer though.. http://members.shaw.ca/trithart/deadandgone.mp3

    Country blues rock instrumental..?

Although I have 5 amps in my room, it was direct in the soundcard and processed through Amplitube Fender.. Well actually to a Sparkle Drive and then a mixer and then the soundcard.. That video was amazing!

    Country blues rock instrumental..?

Ok, I'll stick to my element from now on! Was just an experiment.. I'm actually starting to study that style now, don't know if I have enough lifetime left to learn it though!

    Country blues rock instrumental..?

Being an EVH guy I thought maybe you'd like the hammer-on part? Had to do something fast and I can't do banjo rolls.. Oh well, at 2 minutes it won't waste too much of anyone's time! :D

    Last one I post.

Wow, amazing vintage sound! I love that organ.. NI B4 maybe? Like early 70s old Uriah Heep, wow! I'm thinking the drums may be a touch overpowering.. the rest of the track has a bigger sound, while the drums sound a bit close. Maybe a touch more reverb and bring them down a tad? and/or a bit...

    hey guys! been a while

Stoner rock.. that's what we have here! Sounds very 70's, kind of Sabbathy.. and refreshingly nu-metal free! Drum sound is maybe what it's lacking, if they were more compressed and studio sounding instead of small-room sounding that would take it to the next level I think. Sounds wild and...

    Country blues rock instrumental..?

Well I'm not a country guy at all, more blues, but recently I was amazed at listening to a Johnny Hiland album, so I had to try it.. I got the beat going and soon realized I don't know the first thing about this style, so it's more "country blues rock" or something.. Any opinions on the music...

Jazzy bluesy pop tune - mix opinions please?

Well, no news is good news they say! :o

Here's one dedicated to all of us...

Well the first thing I notice is it's kind of distorted overall, and there's some kind of noticeable edit in the music as the verse repeats.. The backing is also too busy and walks over the vocal. What I do when this happens is start soloing tracks along with the vocal.. Maybe you notice "ahh...

Jazzy bluesy pop tune - mix opinions please?

Here's my latest original tune, kind of got into the modes and scales for this one.. Any opinions greatly appreciated! I know the lead is maybe a bit up front.. http://members.shaw.ca/trithart/lonely_mix2.mp3

Mustang Sally remake - Check't out...

I too like everything but the lead vocal.. :) If I had a gritty soulfull vocalist I'd happily let him take over, but.. The song sat around on the Artist Collaboration website for a couple of months but nobody would do a vocal! As usual it was "I better sing it.. or trash it.."

Mustang Sally remake - Check't out...

There's no Autotune, the back vocals are 6 tracks of me doing 3 part harmonies. There's a little compression and EQ.. Thanks for the comments!

Mustang Sally remake - Check't out...

Hmm, was that song in a Shrek movie? I don't know, I've never seen any of them..

    New Guitar Instrumental

The mix sounds pretty good to me, and the composition. It's a bit hard to tell because it seems to be kind of low rez sound on this site..

Mustang Sally remake - Check't out...

Here's a little remake I did of Mustang Sally, the old classic. I thought my back vocals were not bad though I'm no singer.. Any comments appreciated, thanks! http://members.shaw.ca/jroykirk/mustang.mp3

    looking for your critique!

The playing seems in tune and in time.. that's good! Imaginative sounds and arrangement. Maybe it's the bitrate that it's playing at, but it doesn't seem to have much high end "zing" to it. Vocal is pretty laid back. I liked it overall, not really a catchy pop song that I'll be singing all...

My blues tune remix - less guitar "sizzle"

By popular demand I've remixed my blues tune, the lead guitar is now going through a regular overdrive instead of a fuzz. I think I like it better, but you can be the judge.. :) http://members.shaw.ca/trithart/deluxe2.mp3 Thanks in advance for any comments!

    Some Gilmour-ish blues

Wow, thanks for the positive encouragement everyone! :D The lead guitar is going through a fuzz, which would explain the sizzle. It's just a virtual one so I can still change it, maybe I'll experiment a little. You're motivating me to start on another tune! Ooh.. followup hit.. that's always...

    Some Gilmour-ish blues

Thanks for the comments! I was thinking it was like Beck in parts too! It's funny cause neither Beck or Gilmour are people I consciously try to emulate, I'm more of a SRV/Setzer guy.. The main solo has an Octa-fuzz for the first part, I like that screaming-crying fuzzy sound, one of my...
