The tube amp was making popping sounds and whizzing (up and down oscillating) sounds. I put new tubes in and it seems to have cured the popping, but the whizzing is still there.

He's 34 and never played an intrument. What's a good way to get him started. We're going to get him a cheapy set, Pearl forum or a ludwig starter. I thought it would be good to start him off with more than one cympal though. Thoughts?

I just bought one of these used (made in Japan) version. Supposedly Japan made stuff is better than China. Haven't had a chance to use it yet.

it gets this faint frequency squeal that goes up and down. i'm thinking the crackeling could be any tube sockets or connection, but what is the whisltly buzz? Tranny going bad maybe?
